THE SMALLEST ROOM

Hello again, as you may know, the first 22 posts of this blog are the text of my ebook, 'How To Become A Crack Addict' (Jan to April 2013).  You can also buy it as an ebook on amazon, if you do that sort of thing.  Nowadays, this blog is the reasonably frequent musings of yours truly, Benjamin of Turnham Green.  Sorry I haven't added a post for a week or two, but I'm gonna try to be more proactive now, or maybe I just mean active.  So, here is today's posting.  It's an 'umble poem I wrote a while back, about the relationship between addiction and the bathroom.

THE SMALLEST ROOM

flushed it down the toilet
wasn’t helping anymore
strange how friends become enemies
imperceptibly

steaming in the bathtub
the devil interjected
‘what haste, such a waste’
promising insatiable pain

I ignored him anyway

he scowled and howled
as I pushed down the handle
and washed the past away

cursing, almost bursting
with chiding eyes of scalding coal
he chased it down the plughole

and now it’s gone
and so has he
back to hell

or some advertising agency

Well, that'll do for today, except here is one of my songs, if you'd like to hear it.  Just click on the title here:  The World Is Full Of Whores.  Doing comedy tonight, so have to learn my script.  Thanks for dropping by.  Tomorrow?
